Experimental process
Proteinase K is a serine protease with wide cleavage activity. Its molecular weight is about 29.3 kDa. It can cleave the carboxyl terminal peptide bonds of aliphatic and aromatic amino acids. Proteinase K is widely used in the preparation of chromosome DNA by pulse electrophoresis, Western blotting and the removal of nuclease in the preparation of DNA and RNA.
