In the process of nucleic acid extraction, there are many bacteria with
special cell wall structure, and lysozyme may not play a role. At this
time, acid washed glass microspheres can be used as grinding medium to
achieve the purpose of bacteria lysis by high-speed vortex or oscillation. This method is also called bead grinding method. Pickling means that the glass beads are soaked in high concentration
hydrochloric acid and nitric acid to remove the residual metals and
metal oxides in the glass beads, so as to prevent these substances from
affecting the quality of nucleic acid.
